Nail Art and Videogames: True Love

What can be better for a tomboy?  Nails and Video games ^__^

Below are pictures of nail art that won a contest last year in 2011 on the YouTube channel sweetbabiescake for you all to check out.

How cool does joker looks on this box art.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is set to be released April, 1 2013 according to Gamestop.com but www.gametrailers.com/ is saying April 30, 2013 so, we will have to wait just a little while longer to find out which is correct. One thing for sure, it will be released some time April 2013. Now that Nintendo will finally be adding hardcore games to their library, why not add a Wii U box art. If you have seen any of the cool gameplay footage then the art and play style may seem very familiar when you think of the hit game Mortal Combat 9.  That is because Netherrealm studio, the makers of Mortal Combat 9 will be making this game as well.  Way to go Ed Boon.
Rather then saying that Netherrealm studio is making the game, wouldn't it be more accurate to say develop, co-produce?

The box art give blantly clear evidence of the main characters to be played in this game(from left to right starting from the top): Cyborg, Wonder Women, The Joker, Flash, Green Lantern, Superman and Batman.

Anybody looking forward to this game?

Didn't think so

As for the release date for the holographic collection above.  I have heard that it is supposed to be released Spring 2013 and I have heard late 2012 so...I don't know and will update this post when I have more information.

I don't own any holographic but I plan on getting this collection as soon as it is avalible for purchase online.  I own over 300 polish since the last time I counted them in the Spring 2012.  I would love to finally be able to add some holographics to my collection.

Are any of you planning on getting any of these polish?  Please tell me which one you want or if you are getting all of them.

My first attempt at Water Marbling

I would love to say that I got these results on my first try but no.   It took a lot of trial and error and testing different types of polish of all types of brands.  I was so happy I got results I could be proud of.  I wasn't trying to go for a pattern or some type of design, I just wanted to see if I could do water marbling and achieve some sort of look.

I also decided to add rhinestones to my water marble because I thought it would make it look cooler and it's something I have never seen before.  Whenever I look for different pictures of water marble designs, I never see anyone try to embelish their design with rhinestones, chain, studs; just the occasional glitter.

These are the colors that I used but I didn't included a picture of the black polish because...it is one of a million different black polish that anyone could use and or own.

Dark Pink Polish:  My Favorite Red
Gold Polish:  Good Morning Sunshine

So what do you think of my first try at water marbling?  Do you think I could have done better?  Do you like my color combinations?

Being a broke and jobless college student is no fun, no fun at all.  I can only stare at my TV screen and admire as the lucky people sell out this product on HSN in no time.

I have a feeling that HSN may sell this collection again during the Halloween season.  How cool will that be?  I hope to have a job by then and may be able to buy these products.  Out of all of these products, the nail polish is the only thing that interest me.
The perfume bottle looks cool and along with body cream, these are probably the only other products that I am also interested in purchasing.

Are any of you going to purchase this product on HSN, pre-order or on the day of its release?

Are you a fan of the hit series TRUE BLOOD?

In my daily rounds of reading my favorite blogs, I stumbled across something very exciting.  The HBO hit TV series TRUE BLOOD will not only be getting nail polish made by Deborah Lippmann, but its own cosmetic line, launching exclusivly on HSN (Home Shopping Network for those few who do not know).
If I am not mistaken, InStyle may have been the first to report of this.  Here is a link toInStyle to find out more: CLICK HERE

Here is a photo that I pulled of of HSN facebook page as well as some links to find out more:

"Facebook Exclusive 24-Hour Preorder: Be the FIRST to preorder the fragrance, inspired by True Blood on 8/8! Learn more: http://ngx.me/hsnv4t8g"

You can clearly see a beautifully designed perfume bottle in the picture above but HSN has not revealed when that will be sold.

Forsaken will include a  deep red nail lacquer called Let It Bleed and a lip color called Bite Me priced at $28.

Another set called Sookie Sookie will include two nail lacquers called Fairy Dust and Human Nature priced at $25.  Again I do not know when this will be sold as they only have mentioned the Forsaken set as of now.

Above is a pictue I copied from SHEfinds.com if you want to read on the article about the nail polish please: CLICK HERE.   You can clearly which color was inspired by a specific character from the series.

Even though I only own to lipsticks of my own, I do remember that TRUE BLOOD once collaborated with Tarte on a eyeshadow palette last fall.  As I think of my old age of my early 20's, I really feel like I should invest in a little make-up but the tomboy in me will only let me go so far.

Please comment below and let me know how you feel.  Are you a fan of TRUE BLOOD and will you be getting any of the products that they plan to release?

OPI James Bond Anniversary Collection

Whenever a nail art collection that has a heavily influnced theme (Pirates of the Caribbean, Muppets, Tron, Dark Shadows, Kardashians...)  I don't seem to like it.  I think for the first time, OPI has hit a homerun because this is the first heavily theme polish collection that I have seriouly fallen in love with.

My dad is a huge James Bond fan and his love for the franchise has slowly past on to me ever since I was a little girl.  Their is just something elegant and charming about the atmosphere that James Bond carries and just looking at the pictures make me drool in excitement.
For those of you who also love the James Bond franchise, this has have the be the coolest collection I have seen in a long time

Here is what OPI had to say:

"This Holiday we will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Bond (...James Bond) 007 & the release of the twenty-third installment Skyfall with 12 dangerously gorgeous shades! Make sure to keep an 'eye' out for this stunning collection coming to salons October 1st!

Colors shown from left to right: The Spy Who Loved Me, Casino Royale, You Only Live Twice, Die Another Day, Skyfall, GoldenEye, The World Is Not Enough, Moonraker, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Living Daylights, Live And Let Die, Tomorrow Never Dies."

I want this collection so bad... but wait, their's more:

We have a VERY special treat in store for all of you this Holiday! In celebration of James Bond’s Golden Anniversary we are releasing our first-ever 18 karat gold leaf top coat “The Man with the Golden Gun”

Inspired by the world of 007, this stunning top coat contains real 18 karat gold and comes packaged in a special limited edition collectable gold bottle – the ultimate holiday gift! Available this October ~

This top coat is said to be priced at $30.  For the sake of being a collector, I can see myself purchasing this top coat.  I mean, just look at the cool golden bottle.  With that being said, you could just go to many different craft stores or ebay and buy gold leaf sheets and easily duplicate this look for much cheaper.

I'm glad to see other colors like yellow and pink.  This is a very nice theme and it's good to see something differnt after from the normal standard halloween colors.
(Yes I see that Black and Orange is in this collection.  They can do better : )

Do you see anything that you like? Are any of you interested in any of these collections?  Please, let me know know what you think.  I need money asap.
